1955 - 1973
Where it began.
Karnataka’s dairy journey begins with the first dairy at Kudige in Kodagu in 1955. By 1965, Bangalore had a 1.5 lakh litre-a-day dairy.
The first drops of a much bigger journey.
1974 - 1982
Cooperative takes shape
Dairy development begins in 1974. KDDC follows, village cooperatives grow, and Gejjalagere opens its first milk products dairy in 1982.
Farmers and communities come together.
1983 - 1989
Nandini is born
Nandini is born in 1983. KDDC becomes KMF in 1984, as dairies, training centres and centralised marketing expand.
A name that becomes part of Karnataka.
1990 - 1999
From milk to more
Milk sales cross a million litres a day in 1994. Paneer, sweets, khova and Goodlife expand the Nandini range.
More ways to bring Nandini home.
2000 - 2009
Growing with every day
Mega Dairy begins operations in Bangalore. New products and markets follow, taking Nandini beyond Karnataka and earning it a top brand award in 2009.
The everyday reaches a little farther.
2010 - 2014
From Karnataka, outward
Nandini grows through e-commerce, exports and new sales channels. Better dairy infrastructure and Ksheera Bhagya bring Nandini to schools and anganwadis.
